Vintage Sir Walter Raleigh Tobacco
Vintage Sir Walter Raleigh Tobacco
In 1586, the sight of the colonists puffing away on their pipes started a craze at Court. It is said that in 1600 Sir Walter Raleigh tempted Queen Elizabeth I to try smoking. This was copied by the population as a whole and by the early 1660s the habit was commonplace and starting to cause concern.
In 1927, Sir Walter Raleigh Pipe Tobacco was developed and brought to the United States market. There are two blends from this line of tobacco, a regular mixture, and an aromatic tobacco. Currently produced by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the tobaccos are still made in the United States, maintaining their position as an All-American tradition.
